Skyline Veterinary Hospital - Our Doctors

Krysia Chipperfield, Locum Veterinarian

Dr. Krysia Chipperfield

Dr Krysia Chipperfield initially worked as a registered nurse before pursuing her passion in veterinary medicine. While she loved medicine in general she could not deny the inherent draw of animals. Therefore, she travelled to Saskatoon and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016.

After returning home to BC, she practiced for several years at a busy small animal hospital in Richmond. She then decided to move back to the North Shore and started working as a locum veterinarian at various clinics tending to North Vancouver’s beloved companion animals. Krysia enjoys internal medicine and preventative health, and tries to cater treatments to each individual client and pet. She loves the intricacies and challenges of small animal medicine, not to mention the wide array of canine and feline personalities and life stages. Whether it's a wellness visit or end of life care, she finds it an honour to care for your pet.

When not working, Krysia enjoys the mountains and seaside with her family of four, and of course Frankie (the sweetest tuxedo cat) and Beans (the small but mighty dachshund).

Dr. Natasa Milojkovic - Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Natasa Milojkovic

Dr. Natasa Milojkovic grew up in a small town in Serbia. From a young age her love for animals was obvious. Natasa was always feeding stray dogs and raising litters of unwanted animals. Natasa was passionate about animal welfare and their health from the beginning.

Following her dreams, Natasa graduated from the University of Belgrade with her veterinary degree in 1990. Natasa then moved to Canada in 1992 and began her Canadian veterinary career as a veterinary technician. In 1995, Natasa completed her Canadian Board exam in Guelph and began practicing veterinary medicine in Canada.

Natasa’s special areas of interest are geriatric medicine, problems with mobility, and dermatology. In 2008, she completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) course in Edmonton followed by the animal Chiropractics at the Options for Animals Chiropractic School in Kansas in 2016.

Natasa has worked in a variety of clinics between Whistler and Chilliwack. Her compassion for animals and people has allowed her to travel and meet lots of wonderful people along the way.

We feel very lucky to have such a warm, friendly, intelligent, and compassionate colleague on our team.

Dr. Rocky Lis - Skyline Veterinary Hospital - North Vancouver, BC

Dr. Rocky Lis - Owner

Dr. Rocky Lis was born and mostly raised in British Columbia but has lived and travelled far and wide. He has lived in five Canadian provinces and has lived, worked and travelled through six continents. Animals have always been a part of these adventures: growing up with huskies, rabbits, backyard chickens and uncountable cats, studying wildlife as a field biologist, or assisting rural Ugandan communities to improve their goat and poultry care. His path to becoming a veterinarian has been circuitous and has brought him to a meaningful profession, one in which each day he gets to improve the health of animal family members.

One of the practice co-owners is a childhood friend of Dr. Lis’ wife (who also grew up on the North Shore) and introduced the two some years ago. Furthermore, Dr. Lis was easily persuaded by the mountains and his wife to move to North Vancouver in 2014. Their household includes three young children and their Himalayan cat, Leo. Dr. Lis and his family enjoy getting outdoors into nature to hike and cycle local trails, ski, canoe and bird watch.

Dr. Lis completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Victoria, his Master of Applied Science at the University of British Columbia, and in 2009 completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Since graduation he has enjoyed the diversity of experience as a locum veterinarian working at emergency and small animal and exotic veterinary practices throughout British Columbia and in Nova Scotia. Dr. Lis has special interests in exotic and avian medicine, as well as emergency medicine, surgery, and dentistry.

Dr. Jill Meacher - Owner

Jill was born and raised in North Vancouver. She grew up in a family that could not say no to any type of animal. She has owned iguanas, frogs, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, snakes, turtles, birds, cats, and dogs. Her love of animals started early.

Jill attended the University of Victoria on a scholarship for three years following high school and then transferred to the University of Guelph to pursue a zoology degree. She graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with distinction.  She then proceeded to veterinary school in Saskatoon. She excelled during her 4 years at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine receiving multiple awards and graduating with great distinction. After ample travel, including time volunteering in Africa, she began her veterinary career on Vancouver Island in Courtenay/Comox. Jill spent three years there working in a very busy clinic with on-call status and non-stop emergencies. She then took the big leap into marriage and moved back to Vancouver where her husband was training to be an emergency physician.  After 9 years of practicin at a prestigious and well-respected clinic in Vancouver, she is very excited to be working at a practice close to home and helping her community on the North Shore.

In her spare time Jill enjoys a variety of sports and does her best to be physically active. She swims, skis, mountain bikes, runs, and especially loves hiking the North Shore mountains with her dog, son, daughter, and husband. Jill enjoys volunteering with wildlife and at the SPCA spay and neuter clinics. She is lucky to have an unusual collection of rescued pets: a unique SPCA French Bulldog, Gremlin, a beautiful, perpetually grumpy adopted cat, Pickwick, and a rescue finch, Chicken Little, who is missing two of his toes and the newest addition, another SPCA rescue animal, a kitten named Nut. It is a busy household.

Jill loves all aspects of veterinary medicine with a special interest in ophthalmic disorders, surgery, dentistry, and preventative medicine. She believes in a transparent, personalized approach to providing the best care for each animal with an emphasis on honesty, compassion, and high-quality medicine.

Jill has successfully completed her Fear Free Certification Program and is recognized as a Fear Free Certified Professional.
